life for a life

covid-19 memorial tree planting

What is life for a life?

The unfortunate impacts of COVID-19 and raging wildfires have hit our  communities hard. To give back to the community amongst the worsening climate crisis and recognize the lives lost from COVID-19, Greenkeepers launched this project in 2020 to plant a tree to commemorate each life lost to the pandemic. In Alameda County, where we're based in the US, the number of COVID-19 deaths amount to almost 2,000 as of 2022, and so we aim to plant 2,000 trees in fond memory of our community members. So far, we've planted roughly 120 trees.

Where will my donation go?

All of the money raised will go towards buying trees and tools for our project. Donations are tax-deductible. Currently we have raised $5,573 and have planted 47 trees. With your support, we hope to make our project a reality.
